On the evening of 6 June, Uckfield Town Council will be commemorating 80 years since the D-Day landings as beacons across the UK are lit in unity.
At Victoria Pleasure Ground, we will be hosting a brilliant family event with activities from 6pm to 9.15pm, when the beacon itself will be lit.
With live performances from Uckfield Concert Brass, Nutley Rock & Roll, Rosie’s Retro Rhythms, Deborah Lamb Theatre Arts and Rosalind Lloyd-Bostock, a BBQ from Uckfield & District Lions Club, a bar run by the Town Council, and plenty of games to get involved in, it should be a great night.
As the event culminates in a proclamation by the Uckfield Town Crier and the lighting of the beacon, which overlooks the glorious Low Weald, we are really looking forward to welcoming residents down for one of our two major events of the summer.
Free entry to all, so come along and be part of town history!
